Richard (Rick) Spees is an attorney and author. He has spent over 40 years in Washington serving on the staff of the US Senate and as an attorney and lobbyist. He has contributed to various publications such as Law360 and The Washington Post. In 2022, Spees authored his first novel "Capitol Gains," a best-selling fiction novel that was a finalist for the prestigious 2024 American Fiction Awards in the Humor/Comedy/Satire category.
Legal Background
Prior to private practice, Rick served in a number of positions in the U.S. Senate, including three years as the staff director and chief counsel of the Appropriations Subcommittee on the Departments of Commerce, Justice, State, Judiciary, and Related Agencies. He also served on the Senate Judiciary Committee and as a legislative assistant for Senator Paul Laxalt (R-Nevada).
